At ringside, Mercer interviews Warrior and Atlas. Dingo puts over the WCWA and cuts a promo on Pringle. While Atlas compares Abdullah the Butcher to a “warm-up” weightlifting exercise, he doesn’t like either “dogs chasing cars” or “a broken-down wrestler chasing me.” Mercer slips up and refers to the tag titles as “American,” but Dingo believes he and Atlas are the “cream of the crop.”
Match 3: Al Madril versus Brad Batten
Highlights:
- Since Madril beat and bloodied Bart last week, he’ll face his twin brother Brad this week.
- Madril attempted a shove but got backdropped.
- When Brad gave Madril a cross corner whip, he came up empty on his follow-through.
- Madril queried the Dallas faithful about the Von Erichs, so they responded with a “go Brad, go” chant.
- As Brad fed Madril a cross body block, he got 2.
- He gave Madril a HARD cross corner whip to injure the back but got dumped to the blue floor.
- After Madril joined him, he slammed Brad on the blue floor.
- Back in the ring, Madril went for a pin but pulled Brad up at 2.
- He clotheslined and pulled Brad up again at 2.
- While Bart stormed the ring in street clothes to avenge last week’s beating, referee Ralph Pulley called for the bell to disqualify Brad at 4:02.
Rating: DUD
Summary: More angle than match as Bart couldn’t wait to get his hands again on the evil Madril.
After the match, Madril beats up Bart. Retrieving a chair from ringside, Bart misses a scurrying Madril by a mere inch and a half.
THANKSGIVING STAR WARS HIGHLIGHTS:
- Kevin retained the World title by pinning Black Bart following a huracanrana.
- Madril, using a roll of quarters, knocked out and pinned Kevin in a lights-out non-title match.
- Gary Hart won a coin toss which led to an argument with Fritz. While Abdullah attacked Fritz from behind and applied a python sleeper, Fritz escaped. He planted an Iron claw upon Abdullah until Hart threw in the towel. Afterward, a bloodied Bruiser Brody stormed in after Abdullah. Brody calls out Hart, and Abdullah ambushes Brody again with a plastic knife. On Christmas night, Brody and Abdullah will battle in a steel cage without a referee. It’s also a loser-leaves-town match.
- In other matches (not shown), Warrior defeated Master Gee in a chain match, Mike defeated Adias by DQ, Abdullah beat Atlas by DQ, Mike & Lance defeated Adias & Borne, Crusher and Simpson fought to a draw, Youngblood beat Grappler, and Casey defeated Brooks. Although it’s not quite family entertainment, it looks like an exciting show to attend following family festivities.
Match 4: Dingo Warrior & Tony Atlas versus “Maniac” Matt Borne & Black Bart (w/ Percy Pringle)
Highlights:
- For those wondering, Borne looked like he just escaped from a barber shop with that hairstyle.
- Atlas fed Borne a back drop and tagged out.
- As the Dallas faithful chanted “Din-go,” their hero reversed a cross corner whip and military-press-dropped Borne.
- Tags were exchanged on both sides, and Atlas and Warrior dealt Black Bart a double back elbow.
- When Atlas leapfrogged him twice, he dropkicked Black Bart.
- Borne tagged in, but Atlas reversed a cross corner whip and followed with a monkey flip.
- After Atlas delivered a flying headscissors, Borne escaped but ate another monkey flip.
- Black Bart tagged in, tried to pop Atlas in the head, but hurt his fist. D’oh!
- While Atlas headbutted him, Black Bart went TIMBER.
- Tags were exchanged on both sides again, and Borne hit a back elbow to Warrior.
- Following a massive kickout by Warrior, Black Bart tagged in.
- Atlas distracted referee Ralph Pulley, so the heels double-teamed Warrior in their corner. SNEAKY!
- Pounding Warrior with a fist drop, Black Bart followed with a swinging neckbreaker.
- He scored with a leg drop for 1.
- Rejoining the match, Borne flattened Warrior with a belly-to-back suplex.
- He landed a knee drop for 2.
- Tagging out, Borne prevented Warrior from doing the same.
- Borne mounted the top turnbuckle, but Atlas off-camera shook the ropes.

- Black Bart put a stop to that, but Atlas mounted the top turnbuckle.
- Soaring with a cross body block, Atlas pinned Black Bart at 11:12.
Rating: ***
Summary: Solid tag match where the babyfaces were massively over with the Dallas faithful.
Conclusion: What a nice surprise! Warrior and Atlas not only captured the main event but also a victory. Usually the Von Erichs hold that spot, but Mike’s working with Brooks in the opener still worked. Madril and Master Gee won their matches, yet it was awesome to check out the highlights from the Thanksgiving night spectacular.
WCWA continues to be strong, and you don’t get much stronger than Warrior and Atlas.
Next week, Warrior will face Crusher while Atlas squares off against Master Gee.
