Can Kevin defeat Flair and win the World title? What’s cookin’ with the Dynamic Duo? And who will join me for this recognizable episode?

Not to advocate bullying, Biff, but perhaps you can wake George up if you…

Opening montage.

Match 1: Brian Adias versus Thor

Highlights:

Rating: *½

Summary: Showcase match for Adias as Thor once again proves he’s not a god.

Alongside a red Corvette, Mercer interviews Gino Hernandez and Adams. The Dynamic Duo “felt like it” when they smashed the windshield of Kevin’s Lincoln Continental. While the Dynamic Duo lives “the fast life,” and the Von Erichs make Adams “sick.” They jump into Gino’s car, and Gino states they’re “bad to the bone.” Hopefully, they don’t find out what happens when you hit 88 MPH.

What’s that, George?

Yes, George, Prince wrote a song about the Dynamic Duo’s car.

Match 2 (non-title): NWA American champion “Gentleman” Chris Adams versus Mike Reed

Highlights:

Rating: *

Summary: Showcase match for the American champion.

Match 3 for the NWA World title: “Nature Boy” Ric Flair (champion) versus Kevin Von Erich

Highlights:

Rating: ****

Summary: Unlike Kerry last year, Kevin couldn’t secure a World title victory yet gave Flair a great match. The backslide that enabled Kerry to win the title last year had the Irving faithful on the edge of its seat when Kevin hooked one this year.

After the match, a BUSTED OPEN Flair returns to the ring, but Kevin reapplies the Iron claw. Irritated, Kevin tosses Hazzard over the top rope and applies a third Iron claw. David Manning arrives to remove Kevin but gets shoved down. To the joy of the female contingent, Kerry and Mike sprint to the ring to settle down their brother. Kevin refuses to release the hold while yelling “it ain’t right.” Ultimately, Fritz enters the ring and convinces Kevin to break the hold.

Fritz then grabs the microphone to inform us that although Kevin didn’t achieve the top of the mountain, Fritz’s still proud of him. As Fritz vows that “there will be another day,” Flair remains OUT COLD down on the mat.

Conclusion: Once again, Kevin came THIS close to winning the World title but came up short. If you’ve never seen the match, I heartily recommend it. Also, the Dynamic Duo cement their heelish status with their pride in the destruction of Kevin’s car. Check this episode out and enjoy the main event fireworks.

George, Lorraine’s in trouble. What can you do to help her?

That’s awesome, George! Her search for a wonderful man is over.

Next week, Texas champion Gino Hernandez battles Brian Adias.
