Can Scott Steiner earn a shot at the tag titles a week after losing them? Are these truly happy days for the WWF? Let’s find out!

Match 1: WWF tag team champion Pierre Ouellet (w/ Johnny Polo) versus Scott Steiner

Scott gave Ouellet a cross corner whip followed by an inverted atomic drop.
When he mounted the top turnbuckle, Scott delivered a flying clothesline.
He then tossed Ouellet over the top rope to the floor.
As Scott piledrove Ouellet, he got 2. Obviously, they performed all the stunts that were disallowed in the tag title match “last week.”
Scott then hooked a bridged Indian death lock but switched to a single-leg crab until Ouellet escaped.
While Heenan mentioned the match being held under New York City rules, he pondered whether or not we’d see “winos, bums, and muggers.” HA!
Nonetheless, Scott placed Ouellet atop the top turnbuckle, joined, and hit an overhead belly-to-belly superplex. Wow!
The brawl then ventured to the floor, and Scott chased Ouellet and Polo backstage with Polo’s hockey stick.
Following a commercial break, Jacques Rougeau accompanied Polo and Ouellet during their return to the ring.
Suddenly, Rick Steiner came to ringside to lessen Scott’s disadvantage.
After Heenan sneezed due to a cold he obtained from his dousing “last week,” Ouellet delivered a DDT.
He then hit a running guillotine followed by a diving head butt.
When Ouellet clotheslined Scott, he got 2.
Scott rebounded with a sunset flip, but Polo got up on the apron to distract referee Tim White.
While Heenan plugged Radio WWF featuring Jim Ross, Ouellet put a knee into Scott’s midsection for another 2.
Heenan then killed more time by offering to bottle Ouellet’s perspiration and marketing it as “Pierre Water.” HA!
Regardless, Ouellet slammed Scott, mounted the second turnbuckle, hit a Vader bomb, but couldn’t get 3.
Ouellet then slammed Scott again, mounted the second turnbuckle, and delivered a guillotine leg drop for yet another 2.
As Scott hooked a backslide, he got 2.
He then secured an inside cradle but only earned another 2-count.
After yet another slam, Ouellet mounted the second turnbuckle but came up empty on a second Vader bomb attempt.
Scott then backdropped Ouellet, hit a Steinerline, and followed with a double underhook powerbomb.
Upon delivering a Frankensteiner, Scott pinned Ouellet.

Summary: Scott put Ouellet on his back and carried him to an enjoyable and worthwhile match. Hopefully, the Steiners and Quebecers have a rematch pending soon.

As Bigelow dropkicked him, Magille leap-frogged him and evaded a second dropkick.
He then dropkicked Bigelow twice, but Bigelow reversed a cross corner whip.
When Bigelow charged, Magille evaded him again causing a Bigelow flip.
Similar to last week, Crush was on the phone.
Bigelow then suplexed and dropkicked Magille while Crush hung up on Savage again. Methinks there’s been a parting of the ways.
Nevertheless, Bigelow tossed Magille down to the floor and distracted referee Danny Davis.
Vachon then attacked Magille on the floor much to the delight of the Manhattan faithful. SNEAKY!
After Magille returned to the ring via a sunset flip attempt, Bigelow SQUISHED him.
He then gave Magille a cross corner whip but came up empty on his follow-through.
As Magille mounted the second turnbuckle, he leaped, but Bigelow caught him.
Bigelow then poorly executed a suplex yet FLATTENED Magille with a senton splash.
1-2-3.
Bigelow won.

Summary: Showcase match for Bigelow. I wonder what Fonzie thought of Bigelow’s match.

We then revisit last week’s show when Doink embarrassed Heenan by dumping a pail of water on him.

Following a commercial break, Vince interviews Bret “Hitman” Hart in the ring. After stills from the PPV are shown, Bret disputes Lawler’s “undisputed” status as King. He then cuts a promo on Lawler.

Next, a ridiculous promo airs telling us not to fall for “cheap imitations.” Um, ok.

While Heenan gripes about Joe Fowler taking over All-American Wrestling on Sunday, Bell reversed a cross corner whip and hip-tossed Perfect.
Speaking of Perfect, he rebounded with a leap frog and dropkick.
Following a neck snap, Perfect delivered a knee lift.
He then hit a standing dropkick and slapped the taste from Bell’s mouth.
When he hooked a Perfectplex, Perfect pinned Bell.

Vignette for Ludvig Borga airs. He believes that America stinks and refers to Lex Luger as a “garbage driver.”

Following a commercial break, Heenan interviews members of the audience, and a marriage proposal gets accepted. In the meantime, Heenan enjoys some hot buttered popcorn. Mmmm.

IRS cut a promo on Razor Ramon prior to tossing Walker over the top rope to the floor.
As he joined Walker, IRS rammed him face-first into the steps.
Suddenly, Ramon came to ringside while IRS delivered a backbreaker.
When the Manhattan faithful chanted “Ra-zor,” Walker rolled up IRS.
1-2-3.
Walker won.
UPSET CITY!
Take the court!

Summary: Hey! With a solid victory like that, the odds of Walker having a successful career are just incredible.

After the match, Ramon laughs at IRS while officials prevent IRS from going after him.

Heenan then interviews the Quebecers and Polo backstage. Instead of offering the Steiners a rematch next week, Polo states he’ll offer a shot to a team “that truly deserves it.” I smell shenanigans.

Conclusion: Although Scott Steiner avenged his team’s loss from “last week,” the Steiners won’t receive another title shot next week. Also, Ramon’s annoying yet extremely popular distraction cost another WWF superstar a match. Hey, Fonz, is that cool?

IN OTHER NEWS THIS WEEK: Remember that pseudo-PSA Luger did on RAW a few weeks ago? The WWF meant NO DRUGS! What makes me say that? Because...

OK, I made the last three up. However, both Steiners and Matt Bourne, a.k.a. Doink, have been suspended. While the Steiners’ suspension cost them a grand total of three house shows, they performed in SMW for Jim Cornette. Similarly, Bourne was relegated to USWA and would never return to the WWF. According to Bourne’s shoot, Bigelow ratted him out for Bourne’s marijuana use.

Did I mention a resignation? Oh yes, I did. Intercontinental champion the “Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels quit the WWF because he allegedly failed a drug test. Michaels states that it was a steroids test, but history tells us otherwise. Future episodes of RAW should enlighten us regarding the future of the IC title, but in the meantime...
