Pierce interviews Ladd who talks a mile a minute. As Watts intervenes, he points out that General Skandor Akbar stands alongside the Samoans much to Ladd’s dismay. With fervor, Ladd enters the ring, but Akbar chastises him about the poor performance of the Samoans. Ladd takes offense and nails Akbar, so the Samoans turn on him. WE HAVE A FACE TURN!

Nevertheless, Ladd holds his own and conducts a meeting of the minds between the Samoans. Joining them in the ring, Crusher Broomfield, making his Mid-South debut, pounds away on Ladd. The Samoans double-slam Ladd and hold him down while Broomfield mounts the top turnbuckle. Soaring, Broomfield crushes Ladd’s knees. With Ladd writhing in pain, the heels leave the ring having finished their dirty work. Despite all the wrongdoing, this was a great angle!

  • While he dropkicked Wiskowski, Blair got 2.
  • Blair slammed Wiskowski, but the TV time limit expired at 3:22.
  • BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Rating: **

Summary: Hopefully, a rematch is in the works as these two had good big man/little man chemistry.

Conclusion:  Another blockbuster episode for Watts and his crew as the Samoans turned on Ladd, acquired Akbar as their mentor, and snagged the belts. Also, Orndorff made Olympia look like a million bucks despite losing. Blair’s coming into his own as Wiskowski gave him quite a ride. Methinks Ladd needed time off to rest his knees, and the face turn along with his kayfabe demise accomplished this goal. Get all this!
