Rating: **
Summary: Showcase match for Steve. It didn’t hurt to give him a tune-up match before he rejoins his brother in the war against Tatum and Victory.
At ringside, Hayes cuts a promo on Roberts and the SST while promoting his tag team partner.
We revisit last week when Cox made his WCCW debut at Roberts’ and Fatu’s expense. Later in the episode, Roberts and the SST expected Hayes and Cox to zero dividend.
At ringside, Steve cuts a promo on Tatum and Victory while his right eye looks FUBAR.
Prior to the next match, Irwin grabs the microphone and runs down Black Bart.

- As a result, referee John Keaton called for the bell, and Irwin won by DQ at 5:41.
Rating: *
Summary: Since this was Funk’s debut while under the tutelage of Akbar, I didn’t expect him to get pinned; however, these guys were like oil and water. It was NOT pretty.
After the match, Funk continues to pound Irwin with the cowbell while Akbar disposes of Keaton. Funk hangs Irwin with a noose, but Irwin skins the cat to catch him with a leg scissors and haul him from the ring down to the floor.
At ringside, Akbar cuts a promo on Irwin, Kerry, and Hayes.
Tribute video shown for the late Bruiser Brody who perished on 7/17 in Puerto Rico.

Highlights:
- Without question, this isn’t the same White Ford that achieved international infamy back in 1995.

- Whiteford clobbered Link from behind to no avail.
- When Link headbutted him, Whiteford sailed across the ring.
- He headbutted Whiteford again before powerslamming him.
- As Link mounted the second turnbuckle, he soared with a diving head butt.
- 1-2-3.
- Link won at 1:38.
Rating: DUD
Summary: Showcase match for Link who must drive a Chevy Silverado pickup.
At ringside, Roberts cuts a promo on Hayes while touting the SST.
Match 4: Michael “P.S.” Hayes & Steve “Do It to It” Cox versus the Samoan SWAT Team (w/ Buddy “Jack” Roberts)
Highlights:
- Before the bell, the SST ambushed the babyfaces and tossed them to the floor.
- The babyfaces immediately returned, attacked the SST, and followed with dropkicks. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen Hayes throw a dropkick.
- Nevertheless, the match began following a commercial break, and Fatu and Cox exchanged leap frogs.
- Fatu WHIFFED on a cross body block, but Cox didn’t leading to a 2-count.
- As Fatu slammed Cox, Samu tagged in, dragged Cox to the heel corner, but inadvertently blasted Fatu due to Cox’s quickness.
- Hayes tagged in, mounted the top turnbuckle, and lowered the boom onto Samu.
- When the babyfaces swiftly switched out a couple of times, Hayes mounted the second turnbuckle to deliver more boom upon Samu.
- Samu leapfrogged Hayes who thwarted a monkey flip attempt with a boot to the face.
- After Cox tagged in, he mounted the second turnbuckle to devastate Samu with a level of boom never seen before or since.
- Cox came off the ropes, but Fatu tripped him. SNEAKY!
- While Hayes distracted referee Bronko Lubich, Fatu illegally switched with Samu. Crafty!
- The SST double-headbutted Cox, and Fatu followed with a spectacular powerslam for 2.
- With the Dallas faithful chanting “go, Steve, go,” their hero escaped a side headlock only to succumb to a thrust kick.
- Samu tagged in, yet Fatu baited Hayes into the ring.
- Since Lubich was distracted again, the SST put the feet to the fallen Cox. How dastardly!
- Samu headbutted Cox and pummeled Hayes in the babyface corner.
- Bouncing into the ring illegally, Hayes distracted Lubich yet again.
- The SST took advantage and double-headbutted Cox again. Nefarious!
- Taking his turn, Fatu went WAY DOWNTOWN on Cox’s…well, you know.
- Cox rebounded with a sunset flip, but Samu halted that effort without haste.
- Due to Lubich’s not permitting Fatu’s presence, Samu returned only to get caught by an inside cradle from Cox for 2.
- He dealt Cox a standing dropkick and demolished him with a DDT.
- Tagging in legally, Fatu temporarily kept him away from his corner until Cox fed him an inverted atomic drop.
- Hot tag Hayes.
- Conducting a meeting of the minds, Hayes fell victim to a double-team.
- The SST gave him a cross corner whip, but Hayes exploded from the corner with a double lariat.
- Getting another shot, Cox mounted the top turnbuckle, but Roberts upset his balance sending him crashing to the mat. Sinister!
- Lubich called for the bell, so Cox and Hayes won by DQ at 9:05.
Rating: ***½
Summary: Because the SST are hotter than a firecracker, there was no possibility that Hayes and Cox could beat them cleanly. Nonetheless, this was an extremely exciting match.
Following the match, Samu ties Hayes up in the ropes while Roberts barks orders.
Fatu mounts the top turnbuckle, but Irwin storms the ring to save Cox’s bacon. With his whip, Irwin chases the heels from the ring much to the delight of the Dallas faithful.
Conclusion: No offense toward either Irwin or Steve Simpson, but this is a one-match show. And what a match it was! I’m looking forward to more matches between these teams.
In other matches, Irwin got the duke over Funk, Steve conquered Brooks, and Link advocated for his Dodge Aries K by beating a (White)Ford.
Next week, Kerry squares off against Kamala again!
