Can SBS capture the Texas title by defeating Perez? How will the RPMs fare against the World tag team champions? Will Madril rope Tony? What happens when the Simpson boys encounter the Dirty White Boys? We’re back in Mesquite, so get the grill going and let’s watch some ‘rasslin’!
POINT OF ORDER: Right off the bat, we see NEW graphics, yet the commentary is scaled down below the action in the ring. Also, Gay is substituting for Lowrance who’s on his annual summer vacation.
Opening montage.
Match 1: Steve & Shaun Simpson versus the Dirty White Boys (w/ Percy Pringle)
Highlights:
- My apologies, but I don’t know who this referee was. With Rick Hazzard on the shelf thanks to the Yakuza, David Manning doing the booking, Ralph Pulley ring-announcing, and Bronko Lubich barely able to walk to ringside never mind be the third man in the ring, this referee will be dubbed Mullet Warrior.

- Tags were exchanged on both sides, and Shaun caught Brooks with a cross body block for 2.
- As he baited Denton into the ring, Shaun backdropped him while maintaining a side head lock on Brooks. Nifty!

- Tagging in, Denton applied a bear hug, but Steve rang his bell to escape.
- Denton responded with a knee lift, and Brooks tagged in.

- 1-2-3.
- Shaun and Steve won at 10:16.
- The Mesquite faithful went APESHIT!
Rating: ***
Summary: Exciting tag match that had the Mesquite faithful on the edge of their seats. They absolutely ROARED when Shaun secured the pinfall.

- Speaking of Tony, he rebounded with a back elbow and got 2.
- Madril gave Tony a cross corner whip but ate a boot to the midsection on his follow-through.

- Frustrated, Tony pitched Madril over the top rope, and Pulley had no recourse but to disqualify him.
- Madril won by DQ at 5:20.
Rating: *
Summary: Although Madril had a strong following from the Mesquite faithful, this one never got going.
After the match, Madril returns and blasts Tony with a flying shoulder block. Tony scampers back to the dressing room like a scaredy cat.
Allegedly, Ted Arcidi was supposed to host a segment called Lures & Liqueurs, but the WWE Network ERASED it.
Match 3 (non-title): WCWA World tag team champions “Flamboyant” Eric Embry & the “Thumper” Frankie Lancaster versus the Rock’n’Roll RPMs

- 1-2-NO!
- Hart jumped onto the apron only to succumb to an SBS head butt.
- Rolling up SBS, Perez hooked the tights and pinned him.
- Perez retained at 6:37.
Rating: ***
Summary: Unlike their match last month, these two had much better chemistry and less downtime. SBS’ aerial maneuvers looked crisp while Perez grounded him with chicanery to subdue him.
Conclusion: Undoubtedly, Perez is being groomed to be the #1 heel once Adias finishes his feud with Kevin. SBS gave him a strong match nonetheless. While the RPMs came up short against the World champs, the Simpson boys thoroughly enthralled the Mesquite faithful. Madril taught Tony a lesson which made for good theater.
In addition, if you fancy or require commentary for your wrestling, this episode is not for you. Kerry’s barely audible, and Gay, since he’s a rodeo expert but not a wrestling expert, needs coaching to explain everything. The loss of Bill Mercer for this episode is truly deep.
Next week, Kevin battles Adias in a STEEL CAGE!
