Opening montage.

Match 1: Bob “The Cat” Bradley versus Scott Casey

Highlights:

  • What licensed music removal? Casey came to the ring to Boys Don’t Cry.
  • Casey backdropped Bradley and followed with a monkey flip.
  • When Bradley rolled up Casey, he got 2.
  • Casey followed suit by rolling up Bradley and getting his own 2.
  • As he leapfrogged Bradley, Casey fed him an atomic drop.
  • Momentum sent Bradley over the top rope onto Lowrance’s table, so Casey suplexed him back into the ring for 2.
  • After Casey applied an abdominal stretch, Bradley made the ropes and dumped Casey out of the ring.
  • Casey returned, but Bradley countered a rear chin lock by sandwiching him in the corner.
  • While he gave Casey a cross corner whip, Bradley dealt him a diving head butt.
  • Two minutes remained, and the Dallas faithful chanted “go, Scott, go.”
  • With a minute left, Bradley slammed Casey, and a mid-ring collision occurred.
  • Casey landed an elbow drop and piledrove Bradley.
  • Although Casey scored with an inverted atomic drop, the bell rang.
  • Referee Ralph Pulley ruled the bout a time-limit draw at 10:15.

Rating: *

Summary: These guys didn’t seem to realize there was a ten-minute time limit. Neither one appeared to be warmed up, so perhaps there will be longer matches between these two.

Match 2: Roberto Soto versus “Killer” Tim Brooks

Highlights:

  • Brooks fed Soto a high knee followed by an elbow smash for 2.
  • As Soto reversed a cross corner whip, he took Brooks down with a flying headscissors.
  • 1-2-3.
  • Soto won at 5:01.

Rating: DUD

Summary: Showcase match for Soto. You’re probably asking why my description’s so brief.

At ringside, Mercer interviews Al Madril and Brian Adias. Madril runs down the Von Erichs and shoos Mercer away. After Madril vows to unseat Kevin as World champion, Adias chastises Kerry about his manager’s license and cuts a promo on him. To finish the interview, Adias mimics Kerry’s limp. What a bunch of bullies.

Match 3: Brian Adias versus Manuel Villalobos

Highlights:

  • Adias slammed Villalobos and got 2.
  • When he countered a hammerlock with a slam, Adias fed Villalobos a back elbow.
  • The Dallas faithful chided Adias with a “trai-tor” chant, yet their nemesis suplexed Villalobos.
  • As he dealt Villalobos a knee drop, Adias clotheslined him.
  • He delivered a side Russian leg sweep and pinned Villalobos at 3:50.

Rating: *

Summary: Showcase match for Adias.

Match 4: Dingo Warrior versus Al Madril

Highlights:

  • To begin the match, Madril stalled worse than an Acura MDX.
  • Warrior no-sold some pops from Madril and fed him a back elbow.
  • As the match segued to the floor, Madril rammed Warrior face-first into Lowrance’s table.
  • He gave Warrior a cross corner whip but came up empty on his follow-through.
  • When Warrior sandwiched him in the corner, Madril popped him like a balloon.
  • Warrior ducked a clothesline and dealt one of his own to Madril.
  • After he delivered a leg drop, Warrior got 2.
  • He hit Madril with a sledgehammer sending him briefly to the floor.
  • While he returned Madril to the ring, Warrior applied a bear hug.
  • Suddenly, Adias entered the ring with a chair and clobbered Warrior.
  • Referee Ralph Pulley called for the bell to disqualify Madril.
  • Hence, Warrior won by DQ at 7:28.

Rating: *

Summary: Not much to this match as it was truly a clash of styles although you could see the DQ coming from miles away.

After the match, Adias attempts to obliterate Warrior, but Lance arrives to save Warrior’s bacon. The tag champs quickly hightail it despite Warrior’s furious demand for their return.

Match 5 (six-man): Steve Simpson, Tony Atlas, & Lance Von Erich versus “Maniac” Matt Borne, Master Gee, & the Grappler (w/ Percy Pringle)

Highlights:

  • Due to licensed music removal, this match was joined in progress.
  • Borne gave him a cross corner whip, but Lance floated over.
  • When Borne sent Lance down to the mat, he missed an elbow drop.
  • Lance dropkicked Borne twice before reversing an Irish whip and backdropping him.
  • As Gee tagged in, Lance dropkicked him and tagged out.
  • Simpson hooked an inside cradle on Gee and got 2.
  • After Atlas tagged in, he hip-tossed Gee across the ring.
  • Grappler tagged in, but Atlas punted him to counter a back drop attempt.
  • While Lance tagged in, he fed Grappler a back elbow.
  • Simpson tagged in and dropkicked Grappler twice.
  • Tagging in, Atlas military-press-slammed Grappler.
  • 1-2-3.
  • Atlas, Simpson, and Lance won at 4:37 shown.

Rating: *

Summary: Too short of a main event to mean much other than Grappler’s dedication to telecommunications.

Conclusion:  Simpson, Atlas, and Lance sent the Dallas faithful home happy while Madril and Adias got under their skin. Also, Warrior is quite the hero despite his limited wrestling skills. Brooks had no idea what to do with Soto, and Bradley hung with Casey in the opener. It’s not a bad show, but it’s nothing for which you need to make any extra effort.
